Terms of Use
Terms for use of the public BackerBase marketing site, request-access workflow, and related access conversations.
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Agreement To These Terms
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the public BackerBase marketing website. By using the site or submitting information through it, you agree to these Terms.
If you access the authenticated BackerBase application, a demo environment, paid product, pilot, or private beta, separate product terms, order forms, account terms, data-processing terms, or written agreements may also apply.
Marketing Site
The public site describes BackerBase, provides product and coverage information, and supports request-access and contact workflows. The site does not itself create a subscription, account, license, service-level commitment, or right to access the BackerBase application.
BackerBase may accept, decline, prioritize, or defer access requests at its discretion, including to manage product readiness, coverage scope, data availability, and onboarding capacity.
No Professional Advice
BackerBase is a research and intelligence product for campaign finance and public-record workflows. The public site and product descriptions are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, compliance, accounting, campaign-finance, lobbying, investigative, or professional advice.
You are responsible for independently verifying records, source materials, filing requirements, legal obligations, and research conclusions before relying on them.
Public Records And Third-Party Sources
BackerBase may reference campaign finance filings, government records, public filings, third-party data sources, and related materials. Source availability, formatting, completeness, timeliness, and accuracy may vary.
Public-site descriptions of source coverage, product capabilities, and data workflows are not guarantees that every record, filing, race, official, entity, donor, or jurisdiction is available, current, complete, or error-free.
Your Submissions
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit through the public site is accurate, lawful, and appropriate to share. Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential information, regulated data, or information you are not authorized to provide.
By submitting a request-access form or contacting BackerBase, you authorize BackerBase and its service providers to use the submitted information to respond, evaluate access, schedule demos, manage CRM records, and operate related business workflows.
Acceptable Use
You may not use the public site to interfere with site operations, test security without authorization, submit malicious code, scrape in a manner that disrupts the site, impersonate another person or organization, submit misleading information, violate law, or infringe the rights of others.
BackerBase may block, limit, or investigate activity that appears abusive, unlawful, fraudulent, automated, or inconsistent with these Terms.
Intellectual Property
The public site, including text, design, graphics, screenshots, branding, logos, layout, and other materials, is owned by BackerBase or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws.
You may view the public site for informational purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from site materials except as allowed by law or with written permission from BackerBase.
Third-Party Links And Services
The public site may link to third-party websites, government sources, hosted product surfaces, analytics tools, CRM processors, email tools, or other services. BackerBase is not responsible for third-party content, availability, practices, or policies.
Disclaimers
The public site is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BackerBase disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
BackerBase does not warrant that the public site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, complete, current, or free from harmful components.
Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BackerBase will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, business interruption, or other intangible losses arising from or related to use of the public site.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BackerBase's total liability for claims arising from or related to the public site will not exceed one hundred dollars.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BackerBase from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the public site, your submissions, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes arising from or related to the public site will be in state or federal courts located in Louisiana, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes
BackerBase may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and continued use of the public site after changes are posted means the updated Terms apply.
